Well done on completing this Summer Learning Journey activity, 'The Black Drain'. Thanks for sharing with us two areas in New Zealand that are effected by polluted water. Yes, Lake Rotoiti is battling with pollution and has been for many years. However they are making progress in the clean up of the lake. Although did you know that in 2008 it was announced it will take 28 years until the lake will be safe enough to swim in again. So we will have to wait another 17-18 years. Crazy how quick it takes to pollute a body of water, however the clean up process is much, much longer. This is why we have to take preventative measures to stop this from happening.
