SLJ The Plastic Pledge Activity 2 Day 4 Week 4
Hi, for today's SLJ activity I am going to ask a family member about what they think on Countdowns Plastic bag free Idea. My sister Ava said that it is a good Idea because plastic bags are one of the main things that can cause animals like turtles to die by thinking is is a jellyfish.

ReplyDeleteSorry for my lack of response on your last few posts— I've been very busy tallying up all of the points to allocate the top bloggers in each school (and across the whole cluster).
Well done for finishing this SLJ activity, 'The Plastic Pledge' and for interviewing a family member to try and find out what they think about Countdown banning single-use plastic bags at their stores.
Your sister has a very interesting opinion! I didn't know that sea turtles confused plastic bags for jellyfish, but I suppose it does make a lot of sense as the plastic bag can easily resemble a jellyfish.
I think that it's an excellent idea that the government has ruled out single-use plastic bags in stores. Did you know that businesses risk being fined up to $100,000.00 for failing to stop using single-use plastic bags in their stores? Do you think that this is fair?
