Atomic Bombing

I got inspired to write about Atomic Bombing after I read a book called Sadako and the Thousand cranes. I will be posting alphabetical order slides and today I've started letter A.
I hope you liked this slide so please comment.

  1. Hi Taya, thanks for sharing the story of Sadako. I am wondering why you got interested in it? Maybe because it's so sad. Do you know the meaning of the 1,000 cranes? Well, Japanese believe that if you need something to happen and you make 1,000 cranes then your wish will come true. Sadako and her family and friends tried to make 1,000 cranes so that Sadako would get well. They only managed to make about 600 cranes before she died. I have been a couple of times to the War Museum in Hiroshima which commemorates this bombing. There is a statue of Sadako in the park and she is usually covered with many strings of origami cranes. Maybe one day you too will visit there.

  2. Hi Angela, thank you for commenting on my alphabet letter A slide. I was interested in this because I was reading a book about her and realised how sad it was that she went through this. So I wrote about this to let people know how strong she was at the age of 11.
